Data sources
Where our suburb and postcode data comes from, and the credit its licence asks for.
Suburbs and postcodes
We use G-NAF, the Geocoded National Address File, to match a suburb and postcode to the right suburb and state, and to group suburbs into the places our pages cover.
Incorporates or developed using G-NAF © Geoscape Australia licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement.
A listing keeps one point for its suburb and postcode, never an address.
What we changed
We grouped addresses into one point per suburb and postcode, and tagged each suburb with an Australian Bureau of Statistics region. Provided as is, without warranties; see the licence.
Regions
Each suburb's region comes from the Australian Bureau of Statistics' Australian Statistical Geography Standard. Based on Australian Bureau of Statistics data (CC BY 4.0).
